these clippings are dated before 1923, out of copyright, in public domain. The article is dated 1898, well out of copyright. The one thing about using images of news articles is that your search engine won't pick the names up. You'll want to read each article and list the names above, below, or next to the article. Just something to think about.... c On 6/4/2012 2:10 AM, Gail Kilgore wrote: > Scroll down to the bottom and tell me if this is legal, please. > > http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cochaff2/death%20notices%203.htm > > g > > -- > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to TTTP-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
I saw one page where the programmer had put all that info in the "alt" tag on a picture. Would the search engines pick that up? Seems like a good idea. Never gave it a thought as to how much info could be put in there, and with some browsers when you hover over the picture, all that info comes up in a little sidebar. Just my 2 cents........ What about death notices that come accross to me on the gateway thing on rootsweb. the person does not put their name of the email but where it came from so I put received on my rootsweb mailing list by unknown person saying reference for the newpapers and page it came from. That is all I know. Is that ok From: Gail Kilgore <gail.kilgore@gmail.com> To: tttp <tttp@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 4, 2012 4:10 AM Subject: [TTTP] Web Site Scroll down to the bottom and tell me if this is legal, please. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cochaff2/death%20notices%203.htm g -- ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to TTTP-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
