Fires, fires, fires 3 new ones in Utah, all exploding and already over 1,000 Evacuations ordered for 3 towns and cities New Harmony fire Entire New Harmony, northeast of St. George, evac to Kanarraville and about to be evac elsewhere because fire jumped I-15, forcing a different evac route to Highway 91 in Kanarraville. Human-caused. Clay Springs Fire 1,000 acres 4 miles south of Oak City, moving north to northeast direction toward Oak City. Entire town (850 residents) ordered evacuated. Cause unknown but witnesses say cig thrown from passing car (Oak City is next to I-15) Pole Creek Fire 8 miles north of Neola caused by fireworks, it's near Roosevelt, on Uintah Ouray Agency of Ute Indian Reservation. Seeley Fire 19,000 acres, by lightning Entire Town of Scofield, including large Scout camps (there are Girls Scouts known as Mia This is one across Highway 89 from Wood Hollow Fire which is now at least 46,190 acres. 300 Scouts evacuated from Scofield camp, communities evacuated from Clear Creek, Wattis. It's right west of Fairview. Fire is very visible from Moroni, Wales, Mount Pleasant, Fairview, Spring City and Manti. It's on the range west of the Sanpete Valley where these cities are located. Highway 89 from Utah/Sanmpete County in north to Mount Pleasant is closed. Access only from Highway 28 from Nephi to get to Manti, from north. best map to see where the highways are located. The fire is just west of Indianola and Fairfiew, east of Fountain Green, north of Moroni. David S.
