Brinegar FAYETTEVILLE — Retired Army Staff Sgt. Vernon St. Clair Brinegar, 85, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, in Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital. Mr. Brinegar was born Feb. 13, 1926, to the late Winter Brinegar and Helen Burress Brinegar of Tazewell County, Va . He is survived by his wife, Margaret Brinegar of the home; a son, Daniel Brinegar and wife Jacque of St. Louis; a daughter, Cindy Davis and husband Mike of South English, Iowa; four grandchildren, Samantha, Sabrina, Michael and Barbara; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation was Sunday at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. today, Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake with full military honors. Services entrusted to Rogers and Breece Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
