Thomas BustAge 93, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Chelsea Community Hospital. He was born January 17, 1917 in Charlotte, MI, the son of Frank & Amy (King) Bust. Tom was a graduate of the Michigan State University and a member of the MSU Alumni Association. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Grove Cemetery board, and the Kiwanis Club of Chelsea. Tom was the only surviving signer of the Chelsea Community Fair Charter. He worked as a Chelsea Vo-Agr instructor prior to WWII, served in the Navy during WWII, worked as a Washtenaw Co. 4-H Agent, regional sales representative of the Tractor & Implement division for Ford Motor Company, and was the owner & operator of Chelsea Hardware for 27 years. Tom married Betty Marie Seitz in Chelsea, on May 10, 1947 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, David C. (Jean) Bust of Chelsea, and Jeffry D. (Mary) Bust of Houston, TX; three grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Frances Bust; and a sister, Norma. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2 p.m. at St. Paul U.C.C., Chelsea, with Rev. Curt DeMars-Johnson and Rev. Irvin Koch officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Chelsea. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Music Fund or Arbor Hospice. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.
