I found a book about East Texas history that was published in 1940. Would this fall under the 'public domain'? Charlie Vines charlie.vines@gmail.com 112 chickens for my birthday - https://www.mygfa.org/charliesbday/
Good evening all, Colleen, you can put me down for "other territories" and Puerto Rico. FYI, Puerto Rico is more like adopting a state. It has about seventy counties and will be a larger project than all of the territory projects combined. With 3,000,000+ people, it is larger, population wise, than a lot of U.S. states. So, if you guys know anyone with Puerto Rican ancestry and a love for genealogy, a county adoption might fit in nicely for him/her. It will be the next of the territories I bring online, hopefully tonight or Monday. Guam is now online at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ustgtp/. Two down, four to go on the territories; Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, U. S. Virgin Islands, and 'Minor Outlining Territories'. Charlie Vines charlie.vines@gmail.com 112 chickens for my birthday - https://www.mygfa.org/charliesbday/
Oh, that does sound familiar! I despise this keyboard, I liked the one I had for 15 years or so, it finally just wore out. There were no letters on the keys anymore and the cushion was shredded. Made me sick today in Walmart, they are having no tax sales. They had Dragon Speak for $50. Used to be over $600 for the darn thing and we all got to test it for that price.<g> I think International is an excellent idea. I have documents all over the world and family everywhere. It would also work in with my school studies. If we wanted to have a library front, so to speak, my genealogy offices are upstairs, in the heat right now. This building is set up with 2 doors, and the great room would be perfect for a library. That has actually been the plan here all along. Hi everyone, I've been watching the comments regarding a global TTTP and I really like the idea -- A LOT! Gail does, as well. But, before we can carry out something like this, two considerations need to be made: 1. We don't have enough members currently to be able to carrying out a full-fledged project, but something Jeanne alluded to in one of her messages gave me an idea. With the few members we have we CAN create an international library until our membership gets large enough to actually have a TTTP International. It could be named the International Library until we have enough people to have the spin-off project. 2. Again, due to the lack of the numbers in our project, we couldn't 'adopt out' any particular country, province, city, etc. However, what we can do is set up a page for whatever country you wish to work on and allow you to feed it with whatever data you have specific to that country. Notice, I'm saying country, not province or city. I know this is a repeat of previous threads and messages, but if everyone would notify their friends, past project members (whomever) to come over and join us, we could get our ranks filled and take off with all these ideas you, Gail and I keep coming up with. We need PEOPLE!! :-))) Colleen -- -- */Trails to the Past/* http://trailstothepast.org/ <http://trailstothepast.org/> */Alaska Trails to the Past/* http://alaskaweb.org <http://alaskaweb.org>
