    1. [TTTP] Gravestone Photo Project - TRAILS
    2. Gail Kilgore
    3. Ok, just to trying to fill you in on everything and get your input. When Daryl decided to do the Gravestone project, I bought the domain name and Daryl bought the program. Daryl then tweeked the program to fit "our/his" needs. He had set up an email address on the Trails server, which I deleted. So, I am guessing that no one can reach anybody cause the email is no longer there. I emailed with the server people and they are telling me that passwords to get into the program have to be gotten from TinyWeb Gallery. I am asking if we should try and pursue passwords or drop this project? I can't maintain the site and it is going to take someone with a lot of time. Kathy is looking for passwords but I have no idea if they will surface. Gail

    3. If Trails is thinking on a wiki type of page- why not just add a page to each county ( or state ) that the researchers can add to- or place a page with a mail box for submitting such links as on wiki- that is all the wiki search does- provide links to other material- right or wrong? Just thoughts- also thought it may be a more simple solution that running another state oriented project. -- PMcSwain ---- Jan Cortez <[email protected]> wrote: This could be done at the National level thru the Trails server, if Gail would set it up. 3. You can set up a google search that will search any and all of the sites you add the urls of. It is quite simple, but takes a little time. The problem right now is that we still have many counties left to be adopted. When, and if, I can get Indiana set up I will add a search for the entire state. It would be nicer to have that set up, just in case someone does not know what county they need to look in. It would work on State pages, but I am not sure it could at the national level? You would get to many returns, I should think. The cemeteries I am doing will have to be on the State site as the county is not yet adopted. I thought I would link all cemeteries to the main site. Have a page with counties listed and the cemeteries photographed or transcribed and a link to the county which has it online. All but 2 of my counties are just place pages. -- Sheri FamilyTwigs <http://freepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~familytwigs/> TwigTalk <http://familytwigs.blogspot.com/> Indiana Trails To The Past <http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/%7Eintttp/> SA Jackson County <http://www.rootsweb.com/%7Einjacktp/>Trails To The Past

    3. I would think- a death of anyone wh came from one place- died in another- and was then buried in the place of which they came from could be posted to both places- those searching one place would then be searching both places place of birth- death and burial. For example, someone born in Ocala, Marion Co, Fl, died in Polk Co, NC and was then buried (according to the death record) in Ocala. -- should that information also be made available on the Marion Co Fl (when there is one)? Other examples are those who died in Polk Co, NC, but were born in Ohio, Illinois, etc.  Should we (attempt) to make a database for the states including information about those who died elsewhere?  Here's some specific examples (all died in Polk Co, NC): 1)George Cramer Baker:  b 19 Jun 1839 near Columbus, O d 12 Apr 1915 Father:  Geo Baker birthplace:  Perma Mother:  Elizabeth Cramer birthplace:  Perma 2) Charles Pearson:  b Davie Co, NC  d 18 Apr 1915 Father:  Giles Williams Pearson birthplace:  Davie Co, NC Mother:  Elizabeth Ellis  birthplace:  NC 3) Samuel Jesse Pyles:  b 22 Aug 1883 Marion Co, Fla d 30 Aug 1915 Father:  S R Pyles  birthplace:  Marion Co Fla Mother:  Mary Davis Barnes  birthplace:  Marion Co Fla Burial:  Ocala, Fla 4) Ashbell Tenbrook:  b 16 Mar 1856 Springfield, Ill d 10 Apr 1917 Father:  Joshua Tenbrook birthplace:  Recan Mother:  Mary Wilkins  birthplace:  Ohio 5) Benjamin Daniel Williams:  b 26 Jan 1848 Penn d 18 Mar 1917 Father:  Ezra Williams  birthplace:  PA Mother:  Clarris Wescott  birthplace:  NY 6) Harriett F Becker:  b 24 Dec 1859 Illinois  d 24 Dec 1917 Father:  Noah H Kernsy  birthplace:  Ohio Mother:  Elizabeth Miller  birthplace:  Ohio 7) William Hiden McEachern:  b 3 Feb 1897 Hahira, GA d 28 Jan 1918 Father:  J C McEachearn  birthplace:  NC Mother:  Lucy Taylor  birthplace:  NC Burial:  Jacksonville, Fla 8) Maria Elizabeth Reek:  b 4 Feb 1827 Stratford, CT d 14 Feb 1918 Father:  John Sherman  birthplace:  CT Mother:  Maria Liluby  birthplace:  CT Burial:  Stratford, CT 9) John Fleming Wilcox:  b 4 Jul 1851 Pittsburg, PA d 18 Mar 1918 Father:  Lennie Wilcox  birthplace: NY Mother:  Eliza Flemming  birthplace:  Ireland 10) Mary Rebbeca Day:  b 19 Apr 1866 Huntington Co, Ind d 22 Apr 1918 Father:  Frederick Sheets  birthplace:  OH Mother:  Maria Shivley  birthplace:  Indiana 11) Louisa Marie Swail:  b 2 Mar 1830 Stratford, CT d 12 Sep 1918 Father:  Timothy Benedict  birthplace:  Connecticut Mother:  Mary G Chamberlain  birthplace:  Dalton, Mass Unless otherwise noted, the burials are in the area.  So, should we, collectively as a project, include some sort of a database on our state page, which identifies those from/in our states but which died elsewhere?  For example, should there be a database in, for example, New York, which lists those who, according to their death certs, were from New York, but who died in North Carolina?  It wouldn't have to include the entire record, only the bits indicated there and a link to the records in the appropriate county (my thoughts).  I think, using #5 above, that if I created a database in New York or Pennsylvania, I would only identify the deceased, dates, and a link to the county where the record is located.  If we work together to create these types of databases, we could be the absolutely most amazing project around!!!  But, we'd all have to be willing to work at this type of thing. 3. Hi all, To my way of thinking we should have a copy of the obit etc on both the state/ county where born and where died. if someone was looking for an obit, all they might have is where they were born, or maybe just where they died. I have saved the Marion CO. Fl. obit, and whenever there is a county site, it will be on there. In fact, I'm thinking of having an "Misc Florida Obits page" where it can be put right now to get it on line. For what it's worth, I'm working on Baker county right now. What say??
