What grand reading... the history that these people are telling. It is awesome. Then to top it off, I found the slaves that were owned by my son's gggggggggg grandfather.... somewhere down the line in OK. Absolutely fabulous reading.. For any of you who have links to the transcribed census (.TXT) files going to the us-census.org domain - - the census project's files have been moved to another server and as a result if you have links going to the .txt files that start with: http://ftp.us-census.org/pub/usgenweb/census/ - - - the links are broken. To fix this, use search and replace to replace the ftp. with www. http://ftp.us-census.org/pub/usgenweb/census/ replace with http://www.us-census.org/pub/usgenweb/census/ Colleen
Yes, I know he is just trying to help. I'm not especially organized and he is trying to make things easier, although putting plastic containers on one shelf and the lids across the room in a drawer isn't always helpful. I did point that out to him and he has left them alone. At least he leaves my genealogy alone--he does know better than to mess with that! I typed up the inside cover page and list of committee chairmen last night. The names may be of value to a researcher. Will try to get to more later today, taking care of my almost 6 month old grandson, he has already scooted off his blanket and he's only been here 10 minutes. I have a cookbook with recipes in it from new england to modern days. I am gong to use them in my states. However there are Colonial, Southern, Western, and Cultural ones. Will share. Got to get to work on my States right now. Got the family reunion coming up in about 45 days. Plus mom will be 92 this year the day before the reunion. Everyone have a great day. Hi Ray, great job. I put your new widgit on the Duval, Fl. page. http://rootsweb.ancestry.com/~fltttp/duval/ourfamilytree.htm Nice! I made a few little changes. Centered the headings and pictures, and added a little space inside the table cells. It's nice to have all the info right there to see. Gosh, send him my way, I have a lot of straightening up to do. No way my husband would straighten my books. I don't want him near my stuff. Will be interesting to see what you get for recipes out of that old book. I have an old one at home in AZ too. I ran across something yesterday.... buckle, I never heard the word buckle in reference to a crisp, cobbler, so what is a buckle and what part of the country do they make buckles? g On Sun, Sep 18, 2011 at 9:38 PM, Alice Allen <[email protected]> wrote: > Yesterday my husband was straightening one of our bookshelves and he > found an old cookbook from the Ladies' Debt Aid Society of the First > Methodist Episcopal Church in Rome NY, copyright 1913.
