    1. Losee and Brownell and Seeley connections to Tryon and Chaffee families

    3. Just double checking that this info is "out". Found it about the time I went on vacation. 1. Losee connection to the Tryon family Benjamin Tryon of St. Joseph Co. MI had a gr nephew Peter, who married Francis Losee (Lossee) in Greene Co. NY. Peter was born 1839 (37?) and Frances was born 1845. Peters father was the William Tryon who married Sally Day in Greene Co. NY in 1838. His grandfather was Peter, brother to Benjamin Tryon of St. Joseph, assuming I have it all connected right. 2. Brownell connection to the Tryon family. In the 1860 census of Barry Co. MI, Melissa Tryon age 16 is living with Heman Brownell age 45. He had been in MI since before the 1840 census, where he is in St. Joseph Co, if I'm not mistaken. Could never explain it. I assume either married a Tryon widow, which I can't find the marraige for, or he is a relative. Well, browsing thru the Tryon Union, I found the following: Betsey Tryon, dau of David Tryon and Mary Wakeman Pierson, married 1 George Brownell and married 2 Lyman Seeley. David is the son of Oliver Tryon and Deborah Mudge - the Quaker line of the family and grandson of Ziba Tryon and Dorothy Baldwin. Betsey was born between 1783 and 1790. Assuming she was 17 when she was marr, she would have married after 1799 to Brownell and could be Heman's mother or aunt by marraige, etc. The second marraige is interesting too. Emma Chaffee, dau of William Henry Chaffee and Loretta Nichols, married 1 to Jefferson Adam Seeley in 1896. William's parents were LYMAN Chaffee and ADELIA ANN TRYON. Don't know if it connects, but it is an interesting co-incidence. Vicki
