Samuel Steele born 1626/7 England died 15 Aug 1685 Wethersfield CT. and spouse Mary Boosey born 10 Sept 1635 died 1702 Farmington CT. Elizebeth Harris born 22 March 1660 Middletown CT died 4 Dec 1710 daughter of Capt. Daniel Harris born 1615 England wed 1648 died 30 Nov 1701 Middletown CT. spouse Mary Welds born 1627 died 5 Sept 1711 Middletown CT Abell Tryon and Abiah Birdsey Hunnewell wed March 1703 Middletown CT. Their daughter Rachel Tryon born 1718-24 Middletown CT wed 28 Sept 1749 Middletown CT. died 1795 spouse Reubin Lewis. There were also copies of wills and land deeds that I was unable to copy at that time. All this information was found in the Crandall Library in the City of Glens Falls NY ..Accurate ? The birth/death dates given here for Mary Steele are actually the dates for William Tryon's third wife (Mary Steele being his second). Mary's dates are born ca 1652, died ca 1688. The other information you give is even better than what I have. (Haven't had the time to delve into that part yet). William's first wife was an unknown in England by whom he had two sons. After her death he left the boys in care of his brother and removed to Wethersfield, where he married Mary Steele about 1670. After Mary died he married the widow Sarah Saint Robinson Latimer, who was widowed with two children (Bathsehhba and Jonathan). William and Saint had one child, Abiel, b. 1695. Point of information - Abial Birdsey was dau of John Birdsey and Elizabeth Harris. Upon his death Elizabeth married John Hunnewell and Abial was sort of "adopted" informally and known by the Hunnewell surname. She was NOT the widow of a Hunnewell as some have claimed. (All this per Donald Lines Jacobus private papers on the Tryons) Thank you for the more definitive dates. I have had it for 7-8 years and have not entered it in my current database as I am uncertain of the accuracy that far back. Mr Kenneth Perry is probably also a descendant of my g-grandfather born 1817 and his first wife, as the folder bearing my surname, branched off from him and am grateful that he left this for others to take advantage of his research. He lists 11 children for Abell and Abiah; Sarah 1704 Thomas 1708 Abell 1710 William M. 1712 Elizabeth 1714 Mary 1717 Rachel 1718 Charles 1719 Elizabeth 1720 (what happened to Elizabeth born 1714 ?) Prudence 1728 Richard Steele Fairstead, Essex England, grandfather of Samuel Mary Boosey's parents James Boosey-Alice Birdsel Daniel Harris was son of Thomas Harris born 1571/1580 Hatherop Glouster England died 1634 Charlestown MA. and Elizabeth Hills born 1577 England wed 1606 England died 1670 Charlestown MA Thomas was son of William Harris - Agnes Mason daughter of Henry Mason ( have more info on this gent some place . I believe that this is all that I have that would interest you at this time. I intend to return to Glens Falls sometime after the first of the year to find if it is possible to copy the will's and court documents that are also in the folder.
