    3. snip | | | | An IGI posting states that a Henry Tryon mar. Ann Service on 22 Oct | | 1840, in Glen, Montgomery County, NY | | This is one week after your data and I suspect there's a connection. This was for a "Protestant Dutch" church. Most of my Tryons were that religion, at least Dutch Church. | | There once was a Tryon household | | in Montgomery county back in 1790, but none afterwards. Surrounding | | counties are loaded with Tryons. The 1790 Tryon was a Thomas. I always thought that he was the Thomas who ended up in Onieda, but since then, I have found that a Thomas Tryon died in Coxsackie circa 1799 and that might be him. I wish 1790 had more info. Add to that the fact that Montgomery was bigger then and it gets really confusing. (Greene Co. was part of Albany then). Thomas of Coxsackie was the right age to have started the entire line of Greene Co. NY Tryon's. | | | | The 1850 census of Wyoming Co, NY has this family (and only this family) | | Henry R b. 1818 NY | | Ellen b. 1817 NY | | Watson b. 1849 NY | | Erastus b. 1842 NY | | Nancy b. 1843 NY | | Mary b. 1845 NY | | | | but there is no mention of Susan Louisa, born 1849, instead there is | | Watson who was born that year. | | This is the only Tryon household ever in Wyoming county. This would put Henry close to the same generation as my Sally, born 1814 and Benjamin, born circa 1824. Proven brother and sister by county histories. No mention of siblings or parents, though. Rats, Rats. Wyoming was not created until after the 1840 census. Before that it was Genesee. There is a Daniel P. Trye and a Harry there in 1840. (Daniel seems to be from the VT line of the family, while Harry/Henry runs in several) However, that Harry was born Circa 1800 and has a dau b. before 1840.) I'll keep poking around for what I can find. Vicki
