Ann Service on 22 Oct 1840, in Glen, Montgomery County, NY This is one week after your data and I suspect there's a connection. There once was a Tryon household in Montgomery county back in 1790, but none afterwards. Surrounding counties are loaded with Tryons. The 1850 census of Wyoming Co, NY has this family (and only this family) Henry R b. 1818 NY Ellen b. 1817 NY Watson b. 1849 NY Erastus b. 1842 NY Nancy b. 1843 NY Mary b. 1845 NY but there is no mention of Susan Louisa, born 1849, instead there is Watson who was born that year. This is the only Tryon household ever in Wyoming county. There is a Henry Tryon household in the 1860 census in Chautauqua county, near Wyoming Co, but I have not yet collected that census information so do not know if it is the same family. There is a "Sarah Louisa Tryon" b. 1849, in a Tryon household in Buffalo 5th Ward, Erie Co, NY, in the 1850 census. Parents seem to be Marshall Tryon and Cleora his wife. The ancestry of this family is pretty well established. I'm sorry, but at this time I have not been able to form a connection of Henry R's family with the rest of the Tryons, and really haven't a clue. If you have any further info, even if just rumors, please forward it and maybe it will provide a hint. And I certainly am interested in receiving what you have on Susan Louisa's descendants. We currently have a very large database of Tryons which I am cleaning up and will soon post to our website at ... http://www.tryon-union.com/ I have checked our "waifs and strays" list and find no mention of any of the surnames you noted. You really have found an isolated branch!! <g> Regards, Dan Brevik, Marlboro MA
