Found this letter in my e-mail and thought we might be able to help Terry. Vicki ---------- | From: carl r. endres <cendres@wwa.com> | To: vtitus@ipa.net | Subject: Tryon, Lovinia | Date: Saturday, October 18, 1997 12:43 AM | | Dear Vicki, | | I do not have my own Email address but you can respond to this Email | address and it will get back to me. I have been looking for Lovinia | Tryon born in Vermont bef. 1800 or before. She married Nathaniel Jones, | he was born in Connecticut abt. the same time. They had a son Henry | Clinton Jones born in Dec. 1828 in PA. He had two daughters by one wife, | the first Annie Lovinia Jones bn. 23, April 1853, her sister Ida | Elizabeth was bn. Nov. 1858 both born in Northville twp., Illinois. I | only know that their mother maiden's name was possibly Van Wort bn in | New York. I believe their grandmother was Sophia VanWort bn 1808 in | Vermont, possible brother was Cassius C. Van Wort. The girls also had a | step brother Walter C. Jones born May 1874 in IL. His mother was named | Naomi bn. Sept. 1841 possibly the girls aunt?, they resided in Illnois | for most of their lives, Henry was a farmer from 1854 to 1894; had | previously resided in Sandwich, Illinois. Henry died in June 13, 1913, | in Evanston, Illinois and is buried at Rosehill cemetary. The family | never knew anything of Ida or Walter but I found them in the 1870, 1900 | cenus. I believe we are related to William E. Tryon. The names Payne, | Pitts, Valentine, VanWort, Jones, Ellingstworth, Evans are related to | these people. Any information on helping me connect to any of these | families would be most appreciated. | | Sincerely yours, | | | Terry Dargan |
