    1. More data on MI Tryon's - FYI

    3. I finally have the original marraige record of Jesse C. Tryon of Brady TWP, Kalamazoo Co. MI. He got married in Van Buren Co. MI. I am still trying to figure that one out, and the marraige clears up some things and messes up some others. Jesse C. Tryon, age 23 of Brady, Kalamazoo Co. MI, m. Theressa L. Gage, age 16 of Brady, Kalamazoo Co. , in Hamilton TWP on Nov 19, 1848. Witnesses are George W. and Horace Tryon of Hamilton. Since the bride and groom are both from Brady, it doesn't make sense to travel 6 TWP's away to get married, unless they were going there to be with relatives. As George W. and Horace witnessed the marraige, it tends to point to the Van Buren Co. Tryon's being connected to the Kalamazoo ones. The oldest thing of all is Brady TWP is directly next to Mendon TWP, St. Joseph Co. MI where Benjamin Peter Tryon was in 1850. Here are the Brady TWP, Kalamazoo Co. Tryon's in 1850. Curtis p104r age 63 b CT (born 1787?) w/ Delano? 59 b VT Clarrisa 14 NY & Mosis 13 MI Jesse p104r age 24 NY Occ=farmer w/ Teresa 17 NY & James 1/12 MI Hiram p105 age 25 NY Occ = farmer w/ Julia 20 NY Mary 3 NY & Curtis 1 NY Here is the information on the Van Buren Co. MI Tryons: George in Almena TWP p135 age 19 Laboror from NY living w/ Harley Thomas 32 CT & wife Eunice 28 NY (Almena 1 TWP away from Trowbridge, allegan) Herod (sic-Horace) Hamilton TWP p136 33 NY w/ Emily 25 CT George 3MI Mary 2MI & Charles Osborn 21NY Horace TYRON Bought land from WILLIAM SMITH on Mar 16, 1842. Recorded Book C, page 495 - STR = 15,1,9 (Barry TWP) He also bought land thru the Kalamazoo Land office Dec 2, 1850 Curtis Tryon was also in Madison Co. NY, home to the Calvin Lewis who married Sally Tryon. If Sally is a child of Curtis Tryon, it Possibly places her in the Onieda Co. group. I wonder if someone made that leap of logic, assuming Curtis was the son of Thomas and Sarah (Curtis) Tryon??? BTW, GENDEX has another Tryon/Curtis marraige. A Benjamin F. Tryon b. 1774 m. Mary Curtis and he died in 1807. Mary remarried Thomas Hodgkinson and settled on Long Island. Assuming that the birth information for Curtis's children are correct, he was in MI by 1837, but he does not appear on the 1840 census, from what I can see. He must be living with someone else, or he did not get entered as Curtis Tryon. Santa is going to bring me all the Broderbund census indexes for Xmas, so I will look thru Brady line by line to see if I find an Alt. spelling, like Fryon or something.
