Hi Folks, I am trying to piece together the life of the above member of the TRYON Family. He is a descendant, in the 8th generation, of William TRYON of Bibury, Gloucestershire, Eng. and Wethersfield, CT. He does not appear in the 1881 Census of N. Crosby which shows the following family: George TRYON, b. 1843, ON + Catharine [E. HORNING], b. 1849, of Dutch ethnicity ....Victoria, b.1871 ....Viola, b.1873 ....Edward, b.1876 ....Clista, b.1878 ....Fredrick, b. Jul 1880 (of whom more later) The first record I have of him is in the Perth [ON] Courier, Geneal. Abstracts, p.455, Marriages, on 17 Jan 1908 when, it is reported, he m. Laura Irene BRAY of Almonte [ON]. His place of residence in the article is Saskatoon, with his parents from Westport (N. Crosby) ON. The next contact is when his brother Fred dies in Calgary about 5 Feb 1909, at age 32, "From an affection <sic> of the throat which had been troubling him for some years", and his remains are returned to Saskatoon for burial from Charles' home. Fred had married Mary ROSS in 1905 in Niagara Falls where he had been employed in the printer trade. They had a daughter. Charles was then the proprietor of the Saskatoon "Capital", the local newspaper. The Henderson directory of Saskatoon in 1910 indicates that he was also the manager of "Capital Printing" and resided in the Baldwin Block (an apartment). Since Fred married 3 years before him, he was probably born after his brother Fred and, will turn up in the 1891 census (due in any month now from Ottawa <g>.)
