Does anyone on this list know how one Frederic Tryon, who had a farm near Fall River Township in LaSalle County, Illinois in 1871, might fit into the tribe? A sketch of his farm was featured on the cover of the most recent issue of Pastfinder, the journal of the LaSalle County Genealogy Guild. Actually, as I reread the reference I found to this man, I note that the article was written in 1871, but it refers to area settlers as far back as 1825. "Frederic" is how the article spells his given name. I found three Fred* Tryon's in the first edition of The Tryon Family in America, but none of them show any links to the mid-west. Two other items from this article which may be relevant in placing this Frederic Tryon within the Tryon framework: At least one settler mentioned in the article came from Litchfield CT, where I know a number of Tryon's lived. There is mention that "Miss Tryon" (Fredric's daughter?) married John Ebersol (of LaSalle County) and moved to Ford County, Illinois. Rollie
