" of 200 acres in Conc. 2, Lot 2 of Wolford Twp in the rear of the County of Grenville. No granting authority is indicated. Would this have been a grant to children of UELs under Order in Council? Otherwise, how could she qualify for the grant? I have been unable to locate her family; there are numerous New Eng candidates impossible to select without more data. There is a possibility, if UE related, that she is a descendant of one of the following, none of whom have I yet had an opportunity to study: Elias TRYON, b. abt 1766, of Yonge, Leeds, ON + Ann FAIRCHILD ... Ephraim TRYON, b. abt 1792, Yonge, Leeds, ON ... Elias Fairchild TRYON, b. abt 1794, Yonge, Leeds, ON (IGI Batch#:451044) Possibility: My 4th ggf, Simeon TRYON of New Fairfield had an older brother Asael, b. 1736. William TRYON, 1775, Loyalist from NY to Glengarry, Ont.( id, p.9) and, while we're in Leeds, Men of Upper Canada, Militia Nominal Rolls 1828/9, includes: #249, Lucius (Lucas) TRYON, age 32, in the 4th Regt Leeds Militia. He is in N. Crosby Twp (Cs 1848.) #455, Asiel TRYON, age 28, is in the 2nd Regt Leeds Militia. Can you tell me the recruitment area for this unit? He could be a younger son of Elias, above. Any assistance in identifying these folks would be appreciated.
