If you're researching any family from the Trier area who settled in the Towns of Berry, Cross Plains, Springfield, Roxbury, Dane or nearby in Wisconsin, please contact me. Kathy Lenerz My Great Grandmother Mary Elisabeth GOUVERNEUR emigrated from Rodt (just north of Trier) in 1872, when she was 2 years old. Her mother was Katherine KRANTZ. They came to northeast Ohio, so it doesn't fit your request. However, it turns out Katherine KRANTZ's brother, Matthias KRANTZ, came from Rodt to the US sometime before 1867. I have not found the ship he came on, nor a census record in 1870. But his baptismal record from Rodt has a note written on it "1867 in America." He apparently came to the US as a 20-year old bachelor, and married Lucia BRECK in 1875 in Berry, Wisconsin. He and his children kept up communication with his sister's family in Ohio, so that when I moved to Wisconsin in 1978, I went out to have dinner with KRANTZ relatives in Pine Bluff. The KRANTZ's of Wisconsin still live in Pine Bluff. I went to a 50th wedding party for one them last summer. I currently live in Madison. Cheers, Matt Sanders MadVintner
