    3. Hi Marge: I think your Eiden family may somehow connect with my Schmitt/Schmidt family. My family was Mathias Schmidt (aka Schmitt in Malborn Germany parish records) and wife Helena Barten and several children who were in Fond Du Lac County, Wisconsin in 1847. Some of the Schmitt kids (aka Schmidt and Smith) came to California and I believe there was a guy name Eiden who worked on one of their ranches here in California. I had always thought there was some kind of family or hometown connection for this Eiden guy & my Smith family. It will take me some time to find that California Eiden information and I'm not sure I can do it today. I see you have a Mathias and Catharina Schmidt family Do you know where they lived after arriving in America? I'm very interested in the Eiden family, too. Thanks.
