Well, your Plein could be related. Trier is certainly close to Luxemborg. My oldest Plein (that I know anything about) is John, b. 1815 prbly. in Trier. My Pleins settled in IL near & in Dixon. Many thanks for your response. Gretchen jknott41@sbcglobal.net wrote: I have a Plein relative from Luxembourg, born around 1780, relatives came over to Minnesota, around ST. Cloud, the Weber family. Go to the Castle Garden site in New York where all of the arrivals came before Ellis Island started screening passengers. Again I which to state to the Trier searchers that the exit papers for my grandfather and his brothers are filed in the Archives in Koblenz, Germany. If you don't find him arriving in NY then get to an archive that has the alphabetized list on film for the people arriving in Baltimore. The list of Baltimore arrivals even had the name of my grandmother's home village. Check marriage records for Lee county as you also have the name of the spouse.
