    3. Hi Folks! Sadly, last Aug 29, 2005, most of my German genealogy records were destroyed by electrical power surges, six trees landing on my home, 6 inches of rain and four tornados spawned by Hurricane Katrina. Werner Lichter, a resident of Gilzem, helped me research much of my destroyed genealogy regarding my Therres/Terres family research. I owe him a great debt of gratitude for his efforts on my behalf. I do have some memory of some of my relatives, (Therres/Terres) who were born in Fliessem (Fließem), Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany and emigrated to Minnesota during the early 1880's. Leonard Terres/Therres, born circa 1855/58 was my g-grandfather. I'm at a disadvange regarding much knowledge about my relatives because my six sisters and I were abandoned by our parents in 1943. In 1999, after 56 years of separation, my sisters and I were reunited. Their thirst for knowledge regarding who their relatives were/are precipitated my interest in genealogy. I'm now living in an apartment in Covington, LA and ready to resume my genealogical research. With the help of you, the folks associated with this list, I'm confident that I can reconstruct my genealogical family tree. Thanks to all who help me with this tremendous effort! Best regards, Ron, now living in Covington, LA
