    1. [TRIER-ROOTS] BAIDEMANN from Kr. Daun - 1764
    2. Peter Simon BAIDEMANN arrived in Philadelphia on the Ship Boston on 9 Nov 1764. His brother Johann Heinrich BAYDEMANN arrived on the Ship Hamilton on 6 Oct 1767. In a newspaper advert dated 15 Jun 1773, Peter, who settled in the Mohawk Valley of NY states he is searching for his brother who was last known in the Lancaster, PA area. He also states they were from Kr. Daun. The surname appears in later years as Bidelman or Bidleman - never Beidelman. There are numerous other spellings of the surname in the late 1700s- both with and without the "L" . Among the spellings are Beuttelman, Bydamen. These brothers are not at all related to the Beidelman/Bidleman family who settled in Pennsylvania. That group is from Assenheim and Hochdorf. (I've already exhausted those resources). I'm assuming the brothers were protestant as the family attended protestant churches in the Mohawk Valley. I've searched the online German phone book with any number of spellings, familysearch.org, etc. My questions: 1. Has anyone seen this name or something similar in their German research? 2. Given the various spellings, does anyone have suggestions for German spellings of the name. 3. Any suggestions for where to search next? I appreciate any and all input, suggestions, etc. Jennifer Clark
