Hi, I just subscribed to this list. I am so excited to of found a new clue on my great-grandparents. I found my g-grandmother's death certificate which lists her maiden name as KLUCK. ANNA KLUCK b: November 30, 1850, Germany Her father is PAUL KLUCK, b: in Germany. An old family story says that either Anna or her husband Johann BONJA's father was a General in the French military (my gg-grandfather) this may or may not be exactly accurate I found a General Alexander von KLUCK. Born 1846 in Munster, Westfalen. Where is this place and how would I best search to find out if his father was Paul KLUCK? He could be my g-grandmother, Anna KLUCK's brother as she was born in 1850. My grandfather (Anna's son was also named Alexander). Thank you in advance for any help. I am just so excited to of found a clue, I've been stuck for quite some time for a location in Germany that they imigrated from.. Johann BONJA - Anna's Husband b: June 1849, Germany; I do not know his father's first name or exactly where in Germany he was from, I thought the Alsace-Lorraine but that is another family story. Would it be possible that a German speaking, German born man could be a General in the French Military?
