Hello! I would like to know the location of the town of "Senaktau", Germany?. This is the location that my grandfather put as his birthplace on his application for a marriage license in 1921. GUSTAVE ELKMANN was born in 1895. Father was John (Johann?) Elkmann; mother was Maria Bohile/Bohle/Bokle? Johann is listed as being born in Germany & Maria is listed as being born in France. We had thought that he was from the area between Koln (Cologne) and Dusseldorf. Family history has it that Gustave had 7 brothers and a sister (Evangaline?). The brothers must have been older since all supposedly were killed in action on the German side of WW1; it is unknown whether any had families. Gustave was quite a character...he left his family in NY about 1932-33 and we think he may have moved to CA (we have a death certificate for a Gustave Elkmann, born in Germany, in Orange Cty CA in 1963, with another spouse).
