    3. Since my last posting to any list, I have learned much about my EITING ancestors in the USA and something of their European origins. Their point of origin was Bocholt, Germany which is just across the Netherlands border. Although Bocholt is in Germany, my EITING ancestors strongly associated with Dutch traditions, although a given individual when listing his place of birth on USA documents would sometimes list Holland, sometime Germany, and sometimes Prussia. They attended St. Georges Catholic Church in Bocholt. I know that LDS records are available, and I will be searching them, but thought would put out this query in case someone has already researched this family or is somehow connected. Wilhelm EITING (sometimes spelled EITINK), born Bocholt about 1774, married Petronella VAN BECK. I believe the following two were there children: Johann Henry EITING (b. Feb 6, 1799, d. Feb 14, 1837, Bocholt) m. Jan 23, 1816 Maria Ann ENK (b. July 17, 1795, d. Oct 17, 1830, Bocholt). Maria Ann's parents were Johann ENK and Johanna WILTINK. Johann Henry's second wife was Johanna EVERS, married March 1, 1831. William EITING (b. about 1793, d. Dec 24, 1845) m. Theodora VOS (d. Jan 18, 1844?). Johann Henry and Maria Ann had four children, Johann William, b. 1818; Helena, b. Oct 3m 1820; Casper, b. Aug 31, 1823; and John, b. Mar 25, 1828. Johann William emigrated to Ohio, USA, 1848, and Helena and Casper a little later. William EITING and Theodora VOS had five sons and three daughters born over the period 1812 to 1826, all of whom are believed to have emigrated to Brown County, Wisconsin, USA , about 1848. Some of the daughters may have married in Bocholt, but it is believed all of the sons did not marry till reaching Wisconsin (a son John Henry, born Oct 10, 1817, may be the exception to this). It is believed that some of this extended family remained in Bocholt and that descendants remain there today. Any connections to this family? Andy Wegner, Winneconne, Wisconsin
