    3. Hi to all: The records I have on the Klaers family come from the Archdiocesean Office in Trier and came from a family book. It was the book of St. Mary's at Bleialf. The very earliest relative that could be found was Hans (short for Johann) Clarsch (1620-1689) who married Marias Merigen (1630-1693). The ancestral home was Herscheid. I also have records showing relatives in Habscheid and eventually in Berg Reuland, Belgium. Various ways the name was spelled was Clarsch, Clars, Klerss, Klaersch and Clarsch. They emigrated from Burg Reuland to Loretto, Minnesota. I hope this helps you in your search.
