Hello Edward, The town of Hilbringen in the Saarland MAY be the town. Hilbringen, in Kreise Merzig, is the ancestral town for the HELBRON family back to about 1650. Rev. Peter Helbron (9 Jul 1739-24 Apr 1816), a Capuchin missionary to Western Pennsylvania, had his parish in a place called Sportsman's Hall (which he called "Clear Spring"), which is the literal translation of "heller brunnen". I have not heard of the term "canton" used other than in Switzerland, but Hilbringen is about 20 km from Saarburg and Saarburg is about half way between Trier and Hilbringen. Bill Helbron Upland, CA
