    3. List Members, Am new to the list and want to make sure I am where I should be for researching my family history. I have found the following entry in the Vienna Immigration Book (Banater Akten) for German colonists moving to the villages in the Banat region: Departing for the Banat, 15 June 1770 from Vienna, Austria: Johann Schivell, 6 P, Steinhauer (stonecutter), aus Luxemburg Valentin Schivell, 4 P, Maurer (stone mason), aus Luxemburg While I have more information on these two families after their arrival in the Banat Hungarian villages of Neu-Arad & Gottlob, I am wondering if anyone can tell me where to direct my query for more information on these families in Luxembourg? Was there an immigration ledger maintained for families departing Luxemburg? And can any of the list members tell me the best way to narrow my search for these families in Luxembourg? I was also wondering if any of the list member history buffs could tell me if any major Luxembourg churches, fortresses or city construction projects were completed around 1770. It seems odd that stone cutters and masons would depart for the Banat swampy farmland (without major stone quarries) unless work was unavailable at home. Jim Schiwal Douglasville
