I recently completed a brief course on old German writing. The script is called Deutsche Fraktur. There is a great primer available from the Indiana German Society in Indianapolis which I bought for about $6. I don't have the address with me, but you might try to find their web page which has ordering instructions. Also, you might be able to get a manual on the writing from your local LDS Church Family History Center. I have one of those also. John Wagoner
