    1. [TRIER-ROOTS-L] Junker family
    2. Christine Safieddine
    3. Hello- This is my first post to the group as I just joined last week. Rumor in our family is that we are connected to the Hugo Junkers of Junker Aircraft. However, I haven't been able to substantiate this. So, my first request is that if there is anyone who has information on Hugo's siblings, I would really appreciate it. I may find a connection if I had information on his siblings. My second request is this: I know that my ancestors came to the United States in ~1880. A family obituary lists them arriving when the son Henry Albert Junker was 11 and he was born December of 1869. The family that arrived in the US were Henry and Mary Junker. I know that the family arrived and lived in Mt. Angel, Oregon and Oregon City. Oregon for several years. Mary and Henry are buried in Mt. Angel, Oregon. Their son, Henry moved on to the Harvey County, Kansas area and settled there at some point. The information I received is that Henry and Mary moved from Aefel, Germany. I understand through other research that this is the area now called Eifel. I know that Eifel is a region with tons of small towns and villages. I have no idea what village the family is from. Henry was born 1833 and died April 1 1907. Mary was born 2-24-1839? and death date of 11-22-1909. I have photographs of the tombstones but I'm unable to read the dates well so these are approximations. I was told that the family name started as Von Junker. Henry and Mary's tombstones list it as Junker and by the time Henry passed, their son, the name had been changed to Yunker. Any information or assistance on this family would be greatly appreciated!
