I am looking for the actual town (birthplace) of my Great Grandfather. It was noted on his son's death record that his father was born in Trier, Germany. I wrote to the archives in Trier but they replied they had no record. They suggested that he could have been born in any of the surrounding towns. If anyone is researching the DIEDERICH family from the area of Trier, I am looking for more information on BERNARD DIEDERICH, born near Trier in 1836. He was in Chicago, IL by 1860. Joyce, in CA
