Dear Jim, Thanks for responding. I went to the LDS center to look for a birth record. The person there said I'd just have to hope that they have the record, but I didn't find anything using about three different spellings. I really don't know much about the practice of changing names. What were the reasons and were the young person's parents still alive? Thanks, Ann
