My great-great-grandmother was born June 28, 1850 in Strohn, Germany (possibly Strohm?, but listed as Strohn on funeral card). Her first name was definitely Maria, but her last name has been passed down in different branches of the family with many different spellings. To date, I have seen Schlatweiler, Schatweiler, Tschatwyler, Tschatweiler. Can anyone tell me which of these spellings (or which alternate spelling) might be the actual original family name?
