    3. On paternal side looking for Solomon JOSEPHSOHN who immigrated to NY from Germany in early 1900's via Liverpool on the SS Nevada. His family was not listed as being with him. An Enamel Josephsohn immigrated in the late 1880's to NY from Liverpool, but do not know if he is any relation (more on him below). Solomon's wife may have been named Mina. I have seen some postings for immigration from German sites but am unaware of any for those who left Germany to sail from Liverpool; was it cheaper? Does anyone have information on these immigrants? Solomon had a son Arthur in Iserlohn. Germany. We have a copy of this certificate of record and have had it translated for us There his birth is registered as follows Job #90: "the wife of one (long indecipherable 1st name or title) Solomon Josephsohn in Iserlohn on the 11th of Feb. of the year 1884 at 2 o clock in the afternoon, a male child was born....given the name of Arthur". It has been suggested that there was a family by name of Josephsohn in nearby Bercham by one researcher, but no further information was given. Arthur owned candy company in NY. Arthur named his youngest son Manuel (providing possible connection to the Emanuel mentioned above 1st paragraph?) Also, Julius or Joseph SPANIER who immigrated to US as young man or teenager from Hanover Germany..b 1859 d 7/14/1937 married Emily Wolff. Her parents were Marx Jacob WOLFF b ca 1832 in (Leiderhoffstadt?can not find this town) Germany d 1900 and Bertha b in Marbury Germany in 1843 d 1899. I have found a Marx Wolff married to AmeliaBERNHEIM in Macon County, Alabama, USA on 12/28/1855 in the Hebrew Congregation Levy?. Could this be the same couple; was her middle name Bertha? I don't know if these towns should be on this list (or in one case if it exists!). Any information on any of these families would be greatly appreciated as would any help directing me to other pertinent lists or sites. David Josephsohn
