I am new to the list and don't know how many members are on the list but I assume list members generally have ancestors who came from the Trier area of Germany to America. I would love to see a roll call of the immigration patterns of members on the list with Where in Germany or Luxembourg did the family originate What port did they leave through (and when) What port did they enter though What was the families early migration in the US and Where did they settle You see, I know from obituaries and family lore that my Trier family came from the Trier area and I assume they came via the Great Lakes to where they settled - Stevens Point, WI, however, I have never been able to find the ship they came on or any records in Trier. Obviously, part of my purpose for being on the list is to get some pointers on how I can find those things out. I think this roll call might be educational in that it might show some immigration trends and who knows someone on the list might just find out their ancestors were neighbors or came on the same ship as another list members ancestors.
