    3. Is there something that can be done to prevent the conversion of the Umlaut and other accent marks into the "=(Letter)(Numeral)" code? Some of the conversions can be identified but others seem somewhat obscure. It would be much easier to read the e-mail from our German speaking friends if something could be done to rectify this problem. Vielen Dank. John F. Today it is a part of the city of Saarburg at the river Saar, 15 miles southwest of Trier. From this area a lot of people emigrated in the 1840`s and 1850`s. The emigration lists in Mr. Mergen=B4s book gegin late in 1857. So the former emigrants are not listed in his book. The emigrants without a permission are not listed, too. The emigrants names from Beurig are: Hauser, Jaeger, Schuh, Weber, Kronenburger, Adams, Wagner. 3. ...John, ...I understand what you are saying. I did send the History of Borg, Rettel, and Orscholz because I thought others on this list may also be interested in the history of this area. I was sharing information. However, I'm having a new experience. Just within the past month I have come in contact with my great-great grandfather's brother's family that still live in their ancestral home village. She understands German and I only understand American English. We both use a computer translator (which also doesn't differentiate between English English and American English). We do receive weird translations. ...I'm doing my best, however, by my sharing the information as she gives it to me is the most accurate way. I certainly donot want to give inaccurate information to others interested in the long complicated history of this area. I'm still trying to figure out in what year an ancestor lived, what village, and what county that village belonged to when looking for records. I'm finding some who said they came from Prussia, others Germany, others Alsace Lorraine, others France, others Luxembourg, others Luxembourg Germany, others Belgium. ...The last thing I need to do is change any of the information that is shared with me by my new found 3rd Cousin once removed. It seems she is going to the actually source for the most correct information. ...Like I said I understand what your saying, however, I'm sorry I can't do any better.
