The Franzens marry into the Dahm family 1668. My husband's ggrandfather (CarlDahm) was born in Welschbillig in 1822 and his son Adam is born in Niles Illinois in 1857. Could there be a connection with your Frantzen in Welchbillig and my Franzen in Welschbillig?     3. Anna, I think I may see a piece to this puzzle. My great grandfather, Dr. Joseph LINGER had an office in Watertown, Wisconsin between 1893 and 1900. Joseph's father, Christian LINGER/LENGER was born "near Trier" abt 1838. There is a George J. Schuh listed as a casket bearer--and he was likely a relative...following this there are the signatures of some FRAGENs or FRANZENs (Could be FRANZEN as the signature is in the old German Scripting) Casket Bearers: Dr. H. Kalscheuer, M. Castenholz, Chas. Reiter, Ted Star(nin?), and Dr. E. Seegers Relatives attending: Mrs. Emma M. Kelley; Marian Kelley; Martin Schottler; Louisa Schottler; George J. Schuh; M&M A. J. Weiand; Math Jonen; Edna Schwister; M&M Sylvester Kreuser; and Raymond Jonen. M&M W. Frangen; Mrs. W. Frangen, Sr.; Mrs. W. Frangan (Schaefer); Please let me know if these are at al familiar to you. If you are interested, I can e-mail you all the names/signatures found in his funeral book...but would send that off the Trier list as it is more related to Wisconsin than TRIER. I also have another line which settled in the Watertown, Wisconsin area--OTT/JUDERJAHN.
