reference to email from Joe Schmitt (Oakland, CA) to Ernst. I noticed that you listed Neunkirchen. my gggrandmother, born in 1867 & named Elizabth Schmitt was from this town. maybe there is a connection. also thanks to Ernst for providing his knowledge of this area. regards, Howard Weidenhof
Howard, My message may have been misleading. My connection to Neunkirchen is actually through NEIS and related families, roots in 18th c., and seek descent. I have collateral relations to some Schmitt families in the Eifel but my surname comes from Mülben/Waldbrunn, Baden ("die kleine Schweiz") and in some lines from Münsingen, Switzerland. Best wishes, Joe in Oakland, CA. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Howard R.
