I am reposting under a different subject due to lack of response to original query. I am researching my ancestors who come from a cluster of towns/villages located near Kreis Krueznach. I know how and where to find parish and civil records for these towns but I can't seem to get a handle on how to record the various locations across time in my Family Tree Maker database. For example: was Kreis Krueznach always part of Koblenz? During what years was it part of Prussia, French Republic, Germany, etc. Here are the towns I am searching during the years 1760 - 1832: Bretzenheim Heddesheim Winzenheim Wallhausen Rudesheim Waldhilbersheim Sponheim Planig etc. I would appreciate any help in understanding this history and geography of this area.
