Ernst, You're sure about that? I always thaught that since I pronounced it "ich" but it was written "ig" my pronounciation was dialect... Don't tell me I spoke correctly all this time? :-))) In any case I looked in my Duden, where of course Beurig is not listed, and found for "ewig" the pronounciation "ewic" which for me reads as "ig" and not "ich" for which the pronounciatio would be written "iç", same thing for "König" whose pronounciation is written "künic" and not "küniç". But then I alwasy had trouble reading those dictionnary pronounciations.
