I'm also looking for Bakes, trying to trace them back to Germany. My grandmother Franziska Bakes was born in Kula, Yugoslavia. My G Grandfather Mathias was born about 1851, His father Mathias, born about 1830. His father Jakob (bithdate unknown) married Magdalena Bluhl. I would like to find where Jakob and Magdalena were from in Germany. Hoping for some relationship with your Bakes.
