My gg grandparents, Margaretha BACKES b. 1793 Heddert Germany, d. August 05, 1865 also in Heddert, m. Joseph WURTZ (WERTZ) b. 1788 in Heddert d. July 03, 1841 in Heddert. They married about 1814 and had 8 children. The next to youngest child, my gr grandfather, Adam WURTZ b. February 17, 1833 is the only one, as far as I know, of this family that came to America. He and his family came to America in 1881 and settled in Randolph Co. AR. This probably won't be of much help to anyone researching BACKES but I thought since I know nothing about the parents and siblings of Margaretha BACKES perhaps someone does.
