    1. [TRIER-ROOTS-L] 9 year span between children???
    2. Susan Nokes
    3. Could anyone on this list shed light on this 9 year span without children in a marriage??? Two daughters were born to George MICHELS and Anna Marie THELEN...Elizabeth was born February 04, 1834 and her sister Anna was born in 1843....both daughters were born in "Prussia". Eva MICHELS was the first child of George MICHELS and Anna Marie THELEN to be born in America. She was born September 09, 1847 in Thiensville, Ozaukee Co., Wisconsin. This means the MICHELS' emmigration must have taken place between the birth of Anna in 1843 and the birth of Eva in 1847. The emmigration of George MICHELS and his wife Anna Marie would have taken place between the birth of their daughter, Anna in 1843, and the birth of their daughter Eva in 1847. George and Anna Marie likely emmigrated with two children: Elizabeth and Anna. (I don't know if they had any other children who may have stayed in Germany/Prussia). George MICHELS would have been aged 35 in 1843 and 39 in 1847 Anna Marie, wife of George, would have been aged 18 in 1843 and 22 in 1847 Elizabeth, their daughter, would have been aged 9 in 1843 and 13 in 1847 Anna, their daughter, would have been an infant in 1843 and aged 4 in 1847. Would the Prussian government have prevented parents from taking any male children--and this might explain for the 9 year span between Elizabeth born in 1834 and her sister born in 1843? It is said that they emmigrated from the TRIER area.... Thank you, Susan

    3. You have ME confused... Does it not state that: Anna Marie, wife of George, would have been aged 18 in 1843 and 22 in 1847 Earlier it states: Elizabeth was born February 04, 1834 For both of these statements to be true, the mother Anna Marie was approximately age 9 Or am I just imagining it this evening, or missing something important? ----- Original Message --Elizabeth was born February 04, 1834 --- From: Susan Nokes To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, May 22, 2002 7:48 AM Subject: [TRIER-ROOTS-L] 9 year span between children??? It's possible others were born to them, but died. Infant and child death was very common in those days.
