Hi Jane I'd like to know what the URL is for that "Naming System" website Thanks in advance Beverly Mack Zanon -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, September 05, 2002 3:32 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [TRIER-ROOTS-L] Naming system Not long ago I came across a website on the naming system for Germans. It said when there are two names the first is a saint's name, but the second name was the one the person went by. I am researching church records from the 1700s in the Waxweiler and Pallien parishes. Does anyone know whether this system would have applied during that time period? Could that mean Anna Catherina might go by that name as well as just Catherina when she is named as a parent in her children's baptism records? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me, Jane researching Bertel/Berthel, Coumont, Roth, Laub, Lebot, Thiel, Thilen/Thelen ==== TRIER-ROOTS Mailing List ==== Going on vacation longer than 4 days?
