    3. I'm glad when I can help :-) I understand your difficulty in retyping in a language other than your's, I would have problems also with a language I don't know :-) By the way I have found a historic overview of Saarland (in German of course) and I thaught that perhaps this could interest some people here. In this case I could again translate it :-) What do you think of the idea? 1. [TRIER-ROOTS-L] DUBGE/DUB/DUBS surname help
    2. matt halton
    3. Hello, I am hoping someone out there can help me out. I am researching the surname DUBGE/DUBS/DUB and have hit a wall. In particular I am researching Louis DUBGE b. abt 1795 in the Alsace Lorraine Area d. 1868 in Lake County Indiana. He married Margaretha LAMBER b. abt 1820 also believed from Alsace Lorraine Area. They had three children Christopher DUBGE b. 1834 d. 1874 in Lake County, Indiana. Catharina DUBGE b. 1835 d. abt 1857 and last was a Johan J. DUBGE b. 1842 and died an unknown date in Lake County Indiana. In any of the records, ship manifests, church records etc that I have searched through I am unable to find any Dubs or Dubge in the Alsace Lorraine area. I am curious to know if any one may know if the surname Dubge has been "Americanized", like I suspect and if so what area they were from. If anyone is to have any information I would greatly appreciate it. Matt Halton
