Hello Carolyn, in my database, you find a short history about that places. You find the database at: http://www.rolf.sytes.net:8011/myphp/index.php just enter büdingen or b_dingen (if you have problems to find the umlaut) in the "ort" field and press the ok-Button, to get all the information about the places which have a b followed by one any character (hope this is right in english) and dingen at any position. i.e. Büdingen, Bidingen, Badingen, Bödingen, Altenbödingen and soon. Rolf, I've tried searching your database for the history of several places but I can't seem to understand the data it returns. It doesn't look like a short history at all.
