Mary; There were two locations that I can find that Hebers lived in Luxembourg and emigrated to the US. The names do not match the names you have for the children of Nicholas Hibe/Heber but here they are: The village of Gilsdorf in the Commune of Bettendorf: Jean Heber emigrated in 1882 and Mathias Heber emigrated in 1886 The village of Dalheim in the Commune of Dalheim: Jean Heber emigrated in 1880; another Jean Heber emigrated in 1889, and a third Jean Heber emigrated in 1900. The above two villages would be a good place to check the Catholic parish records to search for Nicholas and wife and children. The above info was extracted from the book "Emigrants Et Remigrants Luxembourgeois De 1876 A 1900: by Aender HATZ and published by the ArchivesNationales Luxembourg in 1994. Hopes this helps! I have that family in the Dellwo files. Most of my information came from the Walter Petto book. But some from other sourses. All the names in the Hunsrueck area are interwoven and come up many times, family to family. But I am particularly interested in a Catharina Mary or Maria Kronenberger who married a Nicolaus Dellwo in Damflos and had 2 children before immigrating to the United States ( Eagle Creek, Scott County, MN) Roberta, can I help you in any way? I also have a Kronenberger contact who has extensive knowledge and perhaps others. marge dellwo Otsego, MN researching Dellwo/Delwo/Delvo/Delvaux, Schlink, plus other Hunsrueck names such as Gerard (Shirra) Sossong, Driessler, Mathieu, Schmidt, DeTemple, Kronenberger and countless others. ----- Original Message ----- From: "R. We are having a Hiber Family reunion in July and I would love to add further information to my current Hiber/Heber/Dupont families. I currently have a Nicholas T. Hiber born 1809 in Luxembourg, married to Anna Catherine Dupont? also born in 1809. We believe they had the following children: Marianne Hiber born in Luxembourg date unknown, Elisabeth Hiber born April, 1840, died August 9, 1914, Nicholas Hiber born January 2, 1846 in Luxembourg, and Adam Hiber born September 23, 1854 in Luxembourg, died January 25, 1939 St. Paul, MN. Is there anyone out there on this list that has any information on any of these family members as it relates to their homeland location or family prior to 1809? I would love to hear from you. Sincerely, Mary Hiber
I also have a Pauli in my line. She married Christ Mueller in New Market Minnesota. Her name was Susan Pauli. Her family also came from the same area. Lynette

Dear list members, in reply to my today's posting about emigrants from the parish Alflen I received some queries which I DID NOT OPEN for safety reasons. So in case anybody sending me an email would you please state "ALFLEN" in your reference, otherwise the mail will be stuck in my virus - filter. Thank you Ursula (Buchholz) mailto: ursula<at>ursula-buchholz.com http://www.ursula-buchholz.com
Hello to all, I have updated my website and published emigrants from the parishes Alflen, Buechel, Gevenich, all Kreis Cochem. Most of them left the Eifel between 1843 - 1860 and many went into Wisconsin. Perhaps this information is useful for you. More datas for these parishes will be available by fall 2006 when the family book Alflen - Buechel -Gevenich will be released. http://www.ursula-buchholz.com/Navigation/Emigration/Alflen/alflen.html regards from Germany Ursula (Buchholz) mailto: ursula<at>ursula-buchholz.com http://www.ursula-buchholz.com
It might be easier to just check online for the nearest Family History Center. Go to their website ( www.familysearch.org ) and click on library and then on family history center. It will tell you the center nearest to you. Lori kql wrote: > Dwight Fine wrote: > >> Has anyone visited any of these towns? Would any church records be >> available? My maternal grandfather, Anton Schmitt, 1861-1923, was born in Kaschenbach; his own grandfather, Peter Arnoldy, 1785-1860, was from Scharfbillig. Anton emigrated to America in 1883 with his father, two brothers and three sisters. In Kansas, he met and married Elizabeth Mandernach, 1867-1944, who was also from this area. Recently, I found a passenger list with the names of Elizabeth and her mother Margaret. They arrived in New York in 1888. The handwritten town of origin looks like "TrimpelDahlem." On a detailed map, I found two towns named Trimport and Dahlem that are close together, so I imagine this is where they came from. All of these towns are close to Trier. Has anyone visited any of these towns? Would any church records be available? My grandparents were Catholic. Dwight Fine
I'd suggest finding an on-line phone book for that area of Germany and do a search there. Also you could maybe find a RECH genealogy list and ask there about living relatives in the area. By the way, I've had good luck just browsing in the local cemeteries while in Germany - there's generally someone there watering flowers or whatever and you could ask about your family in the village. If it's a small village, the local folks are pretty knowledgeable about who's who! Good luck and have a wonderful trip! We are planning a trip to the Trier, Germany area in early May, 2006. We have old records of family members, but do not have records of currently living descendents and their location so that we might be able to visit them on this trip.
