Dear Baudouin, My grandfather was born in Oberbillig, Germany and we think that he was Baptized in Wasserbillig, Lux. I have not been able to find any records for the date of his birth 2 December 1844. His parents were Mathias Klasen and Maria Ley (Lay,Lei). Do you know where this birth or baptismal record could be found? I have a friend who has done a massive search for my ancestors but has not come up with this birth record and he thinks that the record is in Wasserbillig. The Luxembourg listings of parishes does not have any records for Wasserbillig. Anyone w/ Wagener's from Neuerburg that may have also settled in the Oshkosh, Wi area. I have an Anna Margaretha Wagener born 29 July 1814 in Neuerburg, County Prum, Bitburg. She died same. She was the 2nd wife of Peter Hoeffler.

My names from Neuerburg- Bitburg are Rouhl, Stoker (Stocker), Roderig, Tinnet, Hoeffler, Tholl, Laubach, Wagener. Some of the family is still there. Some immigrated to the Oshkosh, Wi area and my direct line came to Cleveland Ohio. my, great-great grandmother died in Schoecken/Eifel. Hellingen and Hellange are probably the same. The first being the Germanic name and the second being the French name. For example, Livingen and Livange are the same Luxembourgian town. Yes Hellingen (German) is Hellange in French. Hellange is under the municipality of Frisance.
