If you are looking in Luxembourg, I would go with Boevange. Boevingen may be the Germanic form of the name. I would try Boevange/Attert first, then Boevange/Clervaux. Hello to all, and especially to you, Joan. With your e-mail you made it possible for me to put my request on this mailing list. I am a member of this list and I tried several times to send my message to this list, but I get it back everytime automatically, although I have changed all my settings in Outlook Express. So I try it again in this unusual way. I hope you don't mind. I am researching MOHR, KRAFFT, CARIS, MERSMAN(N), HUELS, KRICKENBERG, KNUPPELDER OR KNUPFELDER, MOLL, BIERMANN. I specially search Johan(n) Co(e)nra(a)d Mohr, born before 1767, Lutherian. Where did he come from, when and where is he born, who did he marry to and who were his parents? Does anyone have any connections? I am also researching the Blazyczek family and the Heiduk family, originally coming from East Prussia or former Poland. Other names are: Borowski, Pyttlik and Pews. Around 1900 they were living in Bottrop, near Essen (Ruhr). Does anybody know anything from these families or names? Any suggestions? Where did they came from and where do they live nowadays? All information is welcome! Thanks a lot! Hi Pryse, The Pirmasens Genealogical Society has their own web page at http://home.t-online.de/home/braun.b/genealog.htm They publish and also have access to a large number of family books for the region including the "Sippenbuch der Stadt Pirmasens von 1640 - 1798". This book has a large listing of Schneiders and one for Schlick but due to the time gap between the book and your information, I am unable to make a connection. Do get in touch with the above mentioned society. I have been dealing with Bernhard Braun for several years now nad have always found him to be most helpful. Good luck with your research. My grandfather, Charles Kuhn, was born in or near Zweibrucken in 1863 or1865. His father was Jacob and the family owned a general store that sent wagons with merchandise throughout the countryside. Charles had a sister Clara who married a man in the Belgium counselar service, They were assigned to Detroit Michigan. Charles's mother died young and Jacob remarried. At eighteen Charles went to Clara in Belgium and then to America. He married Amelia ( Emily ) Krupske about 1888,Jacob had an uncle Adam, a soldier in the 1848 revolution. He escaped Rastatt fort and joined the french foreign legion. There were relatives living just outside Rastatt.
