Karen, I had no idea that the Katholische Heirats Register was available on Microfilm. I will certainly check this out when I visit my local FHC. Thanks. Frank ank
Mike, Thanks for your generous offer but before I go ahead and buy the books, I will attempt to borrow them through a lending library program as a friend suggested. Should that fail, I will be in touch with you. Thanks again. Frank Kuhn
Jean, Thanks. I will give that website a try. Frank
James Maxeiner, Thanks for the input. I will give that site a try. Frank Kuhn
Karen, Thanks for your suggestion of using Bibliofind. Frank 0
Mike , I suppose when you ask if I have any contacts in Trier or close to there, I assume that you are referring to my query concerning the Books that I wanted. I do not have any contacts in that area. Thanks for your response. Frank Kuhn
I am searching for ancestors of Louisa Zimermann or Zimmermann born in Trier, Preuben in July 1831, married John Baeumler from Parkstein, Oberpfalz, Bavaria & migrated to USA before 1858. If anyone knows anything about these families, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Hello everyone. I have a request that I have been trying to get help with for about a year. I have about 6 or 7 photo copies of articles written in the Luxembourger Gazette that I need translated. I know there is web sites for that purpose but the Luxembuger Gazette is written in the old German script and does not match the computer's keyboard, and I can't find anyone local that can read them. I have had offers on the net to translate these but after I send them the copies I never hear from them again, so I am trying again. My idea to make everything easier would be for me to snail mail these copies to some kind person who would be willing to help and they could read these into a tape recorder in English. I can do the typing later. If someone could please help let me know. Thank You Frank Ziegele Lakeland Florida
Hi, I'm new to the list and wonder if anyone can help me with my EGLOFF / NIEDERLAENDER family. My Great grandfather MAX GEORGE EGLOFF was born in DUSSELDORF in 1850. The son of NIKOLAUS NIEDERLAENDER of ALSACE and AGATHA BRANDL of PASSAU. When they came to the U.S. they changed their names to, WILLIAM JACOB EGLOFF and MARIA AGATHA BRANDL. Nikolaus was born in 1804 and Agatha in 1823. ANY IDEAS OUT THERE? Thanks. Sally in Oregon
Marc, Thanks for your timely response to my query for German books. Yes, I have tried Amazon with no success. I think that i will have to buy them in Europe. Rather than buy them, I would really prefer to borrow them from a library who is part of the inter library loan program. I will look into this. Thanks again Frank Kuhn rank Kuhn
Hi everyone, I am new to this group and I am going to be boring and ask a question that has probably been asked many times before, but here goes. I need an address that I can write to for birth certificates from Landsweiler, 1929 and Heiligenwald in 1935. Thanks Elly Krieg Krieg
Hi Frank, I don't know about the other books on your list, but the Katholisch Heirats-register can be ordered from the FHC library on combination of fiche and film and at the library in Salt Lake has the book, but it is not available for inter-library loan. You can order through your local FHC, copies taken from the index of the book, of the names you request them to search for. Or, just order the appropriate fiche or film you need. Karen Adams, Seattle

Hello Everyone- Anyone researching SERVATIUS in West part of Germany? -- Moin! Joan in Texas http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Prairie/5544/
Sansu, You can probably find a family of Hantens in Codington County, SD whose immigrant ancestor (John?) was a founder of Kranzburg, SD, an educated professional (lawyer?) who immigrated from Trier? to New Trier, MN in the late 1860s has a short biography on Internet I once read, perhaps at a Codington County site. In the 1940s I had Hanten schoolmates John & Mary in Watertown, SD, and my father worked for their father Ralph who owned the Studebaker garage there. James Marx
