The diocese of Trier printed a number of facsimiles of the oldest map of the diocese. The map with the title "Trevirensis Exactissimo Descriptio" from 16th century was made by Jan van Schilde. It has a size of 32,5 x 24 centimeters and shows 600 villages, rivers etc. It is detailed but has some mistakes regarding the neighbour territories of Trier. My great-grandmother Kornelia Schirmer was born on August 13th, 1884 at Elversberg Bezirk Trier. Her father was Karl Schirmer born in 1861 but probably in Berlin (if not it was his father who came from Berlin). I know that they lived after their mariage in Zweibrücken and that's it. I have bought a book today over the history of the district Merzig Wadem. That is the area that Borg belonged to. There I found an entry. The name of the field is shown on the right side of the site. Literatur(literature)--> are there other places where I must search and are there any books published about that place and where can I buy or read them. Archive (archives) ---> where can I find an archiv at that place. Geschichte (history)---> short history of the place. For Bretzenheim there is only the field for literature filled with data. You can all insert any data about places to the database, for history you also must append the source of it.
